RINS offers a fascinating opportunity to learn more about birds of prey that inhabit Utah.
RINS is a citizen science monitoring project that enlists volunteers who enjoy traveling to remote or rural areas to observe wildlife from a stationary location, and sometimes walking or hiking in deserts or mountain valleys.
To be a RINS volunteer, no science credentials are needed. Those interested in participating in the project will learn how to discover a nest, identify a raptor, and perform fieldwork.
To become a volunteer you will need a pair of binoculars, a GPS unit, an email address and the time and resources to spend two field days per month from March through July monitoring your assigned area.
